Self Love is a Continual Practice

Self love is a continual practice. Often times you cannot quiet your mind long enough to stop overthinking where and when to start. Self love (self care) is an ongoing journey. Self love is fluid and should be the thing you are most unapologetic about for yourself.  That willingness to pivot towards what makes you better just for today is vital. Over time a connected knowing will surface and you will realize that some things that may have served you well yesterday, no longer applies to who you are becoming and that's totally okay.

I wanted to share the Calm App with you. I use this apps naming technique as a "mental grounding" which allows our physical being to join with life sustaining energy by way of root chakra.

In essence, grounding keeps us in the present moment which is helpful in managing anxiety, centering ourselves, alleviating feelings of overwhelm, as well as reignite our mental focus.

There are various ways of grounding.  Putting your bare feet in sand or grass is another one that I practice grounding physically.

Then close your eyes and begin try calming yourself by naming...

  • 5 things you can see
  • 4 things you can hear
  • 3 things you can feel
  • 2 things you can smell
  • 1 thing you can taste

Have you tried these techniques? Are there other ones that you find helpful? If so, please share in comments
